Often referred to as a "Rising Star", Star Johnson brings a unique perspective and an air of freshness to Ohio's political forefront. With more than a decade of relationship management experience, Star Johnson has developed a sharp eye for how businesses get bloated with inefficiencies, cross-purposes and miscommunication - and how they can be retool for a sleeker, smoother, and strategically focused organization.

Her grassroots experience in public service, through volunteerism in the local hospital, years of outreach to the homeless, hungry, and abused throughout the community, involvement with various faith missions clearly demonstrates her passion for the people. She is undoubtedly a real person with real experience.

Star Johnson is someone who strives to make a positive difference in the lives of others. She is a proven winner and a proven leader and a person who will have a positive impact in Columbus as she fights for the people of the 3rd District.

Star Johnson has pledged to advocate for the invisible citizens throughout Ohio. She stands as a voice for those who are often forgotten. She has made it a top priority to run an administration of transparency when she aquires the 3rd District Ohio Senate seat in 2010.

Among her stated four goals:

1. Attract, attain, and retain talent in the math and science industry.
2. Create and implement family unification stability programs to better the lives of all Ohioans.
3. Establish mental health and disability healthcare workforce initiatives.
4. Address the rising infancy death rates amongst adolescent parents.

Johnson received a Bachelors degree in Marketing, from Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio and is currently pursuing a Master of Management from Kaplan University. She has two children and lives in Columbus.
